TMSI Hydrostatic Tester Designs
TMSI has current designs to test API casing and tubing up to
15,000 PSI. These designs can test product with the following

Tester Rebuilds, Retrofits &

Technical Machine Sales has the capability of analyzing an
existing installation and creating a recommendation of what needs to be done to
bring it back to original specifications. We can usually improve on the
original machine specifications because of continuing improvements in
technology. After analysis, we can then perform the upgrade if desired, or do

Following are some examples:
Yamasui Casing Tester
TMSI did an upgrade, remanufacture, installation and
start-up of a 10,000-PSI Yamasui Hydrostatic Tester for a project in Indonesia.
Originally the tester was designed for API 4 1/2" thru 12 3/4" Range II casing
(plain end, threaded and threaded & coupled). TMSI increased the capacity
to API 4 1/2" thru 13 3/8" Range II casing (plain end, threaded and threaded
and coupled). The tester was completely disassembled, upgraded and
remanufactured at our facility in Longview, Texas. All new PLC controls,
pneumatics, hydraulics and fill water system were installed. The High-Pressure
system and safety enclosure were completely reworked. New tooling was designed,
manufactured and installed along with new seals and associated components. TMSI
trained the customer's personnel in the operation and maintenance of the
tester. The completed tester consisted of these major components: Entry table,
safety enclosure, tester, tooling, fill water system (low pressure), high
pressure system (10,000-PSI max), PLC control package with chart recorder and
exit table.
TMSI Premium Casing Tester
TMSI did the design, manufacture, assembly, installation and
start-up of one (1) 15,000-PSI TMSI Hydrostatic Tester for the same project in
Indonesia. This tester capacity was for API 4 1/2" thru 13 3/8" Range III
casing (plain end, threaded and threaded & coupled) with a maximum cycle
time of one (1) casing per minute. TMSI also trained the customer's personnel
in the operation and maintenance of the tester. The completed tester consisted
of these major components: Entry table, safety enclosure, tester, tooling, fill
water system (low pressure), high pressure system (15,000-PSI max), PLC control
package with chart recorder and exit table.
TMSI Tubing Tester
TMSI did the design, manufacture and assembly of two (2)
identical 15,000-PSI TMSI Hydrostatic Testers for the same project in
Indonesia. The tester capacity was for API 1.900" thru 4 1/2" Range II tubing
(external upset, plain end, threaded and threaded & coupled) and API 4 1/2"
thru 5 1/2" Range II casing (plain end, threaded and threaded & coupled).
The maximum cycle time for each tester was one (1) piece per minute. TMSI also
trained the customer's personnel in the operation and maintenance of the
tester. Each tester consisted of these major components: Entry table, safety
enclosure, tester, tooling, fill water system (low pressure), high pressure
system (15,000-PSI max), PLC control package with chart recorder and exit
table. TMSI installed and did start-up on one (1) tester at the plant because
the customer elected to store the other tester.
Bronx Tester
TMSI did several upgrades over a period of years for a
customer with a Bronx 20,000 PSI Tension Bar Compression Type Tester. These
upgrades included rework and redesign of existing pressure compensated tooling,
as well as reworking the carriages, to accomodate larger sizes of product.
Later, we engineered and machined a still larger set of tooling, and replaced
five carriages with new to accomodate the larger product size. We also reworked
the entry and exit handling systems.
